Elise attended Claude Watson High School as a dance and drama major, then graduated with a BFA in Theatre from York University. Following, Elise trained in New York at ‘Circle In The Square Theatre School.’ Elise is an award-winning choreographer and director and has performed in both dance and theatrical productions across Canada. Elise has extensive experience teaching a variety of styles of dance as well as musical theatre and drama to children of all ages, teens, and adults.

Introductory classes are designed for children entering the world of ballet and jazz dance.). With instruction in the fundamentals of ballet, the children will be taught positions, steps, and some basic ballet moves. The jazz element will also have instruction in the fundamentals of jazz dancing, both modern and contemporary, some of which will include positions, steps, floor work and choreographed jazz dance moves. Students will tell stories through dance over the course of the session using elements of both ballet and jazz. The class for older children is more challenging, building on dance fundamentals and taking students to the next level of skill development.
Ballet, Jazz & Creative Movement Ages 8 to 11
This dance class is a combination of ballet, jazz and and creative movement, for children with previous dance experience. Each week, the class will include a review, followed by the introduction of more advanced techniques. Children will learn by doing. Classes will begin with a warm up and stretches, followed by floor work and choreographed movement, ultimately leading to a full dance routine. The aim will be to build confidence, coordination and technical skills. Classes will be taught in a structured, safe and creative format. There will be an open house demonstration for students’ families at the end of the session.
